Decision Types
Decision Types
Section titled “Decision Types”Every Bivia decision returns a typed, structured value — not free-form text. The type determines the shape of the answer and how probabilities are reported.
Boolean (/boolean)
Section titled “Boolean (/boolean)”A yes/no question. Returns "yes" or "no" with probability = P(value).
{ "type": "boolean", "value": "yes", "probability": 0.92, "distribution": { "yes": 0.92, "no": 0.08 } }Choice (/choice)
Section titled “Choice (/choice)”Pick one from a list of options. Requires choices (2–26 items).
{ "type": "choice", "value": "billing", "probability": 0.93, "distribution": { "billing": 0.93, "refunds": 0.04, "technical": 0.03 } }Auto (/decide)
Section titled “Auto (/decide)”Let the model pick the best type and extract options from the question text. You can also provide explicit outcomes.
Score (/score)
Section titled “Score (/score)”A numeric value on a defined range (default [0, 1]), divided into buckets (default 11). Returns the expected value and per-level probability mass.
{ "type": "score", "value": 0.7, "levels": { "0": 0.02, "0.5": 0.1, "0.7": 0.2, "1": 0.1 } }Multi-select (/set)
Section titled “Multi-select (/set)”Independent probability per option — the probabilities don’t sum to 1. value contains every option with P ≥ 0.5.
{ "type": "set", "value": ["cancel", "refund"], "probabilities": { "cancel": 0.93, "refund": 0.87, "status": 0.11 } }Span (/span)
Section titled “Span (/span)”Character offset ranges into the input state text. Always runs in fast mode.
{ "type": "span", "value": [{ "start": 15, "end": 42, "text": "renews automatically" }] }
